Frequently visited valley of Low Tatras lying just south of the city of Liptovský Mikuláš is a part of National Park – Low Tatras. The longest cave system in Slovakia (21 km) is situated here and offers 2 caves to explore for the public. Demänovská Cave of Liberty with it´s massive sinter waterfalls and stalagmites and Demänovská Ice Cave. Skiers are familiar with Jasná snow park near the cable-car, which is the biggest and most favourite snow park in Slovakia. Large selection of cable-cars, ski-lifts and terrains in Záhradky, Otupné and Chopok – sever provides great conditions for any skier, whether you are an amateur rider, experienced rider, freestyle rider, skialpinist, free ride or cross-country rider. During winter season, you are welcome to try ice climbing, ice skating, sledging or hiking in snowy nature. Hiking adorers will appreciate the extensive complex of marked hiking trails. In the lower part of the valley, the trails lead through the forest terrain, across deep canyons and between steep cliffs. In the upper parts, scrub and grassy meadows are dominant. Physically more capable tourists are seeking to climb peaks Chopok (2,024m) and Ďumbier (2,043m).
